      • Control CPU usage

Is there a solution to Mendeley consistently using full CPU resources ie 2.33GHz Intel CPU? This problem, whether attributed to genuine tasks such as indexing, should be controllable. Indeed the frustration is causing me to have doubts with switching from my previous research tool.

          • Use HowPublished for urls in BibTex export

Currently urls are not put into the HowPublished attribute on BibTeX exports which means that they're not rendered in the bibliography.

Please enable this as either the default or an option

This requires some investigation on the part of our Developers, namely as to what the standard uses for url and howPublished. We will look into it and hopefully get it resolved in a future version.

            • Add AbiWord Integration

AbiWord is a lightweight cross-platform word processor that is the first choice of many users, especially with older (slower) computers.

              • Lookup doi by title?

I'm finding myself doing a lot of the following: copying titles (or partial titles) from Mendeley into the CrossRef free DOI lookup web page, copying the DOI back into Mendeley, then doing a DOI lookup to complete all the fields. It would be really nice to do all of this from within Mendeley itself. (Searching the title in Google Scholar is easier, but fails sometimes and usually doesn't pull in the DOI.)

                • Title capitalization

Please make the program change the capitalization on titles properly for the different bibliographic formats. When I try to format in MLA it does not automatically capitalize all the nouns. Also, when I try to format in APA it does not decapitalize all but the first word, as it is suppose to. This is essential. Thanks.

                  • Summary based on highlighted text

It would be awesome if Mendeley create a summary of the text we highlight throughout a PDF file.... It would save time on typing the notes.

                    • Allow selection of tags from tree rather than typing for every document -OR- collection trees

The problem: I have a short list of common tags (say, 50 or so) and several hundred documents, each of which should get a selection of 5 or so tags assigned to it. I have to type these tags for every document, might misspell tags or forget exactly what tags I used elsewhere (so I can't really trust a tag search), and might decide to rename/reorganize the tags in the future. All of this must be done manually.

I am currently doing this using collections instead of tags, but collections are not hierarchical and so it is a pain to…

                        Hi,

All Mac application can minimize window by using cmd+M.
                        But Mendeley doesn't work.

                        • Sync with Sony Reader Touch

I don't want to highlight all my articles looking at a computer screen. For this purpose, I acquired a Sony Reader Touch. But that device is not for reference management, which Mendeley is for. So, please find a way to allow them to communicate, so I can read and mark articles on the Sony Reader, and then transfer those articles (with the highlights, etc.) to Mendeley.

It would be helpful if a single page of a PDF could be rotated instead of the entire PDF, much like in Preview for OS X.

                            • Sorting references by user-defined criteria

It would be really nice if you allow users to sort references according to “tags” or “notes” or other user-defined criteria. For me, I want to add a note for every reference telling how much this paper is relevant to my project, or what was the impact factor of the journal, or how many times it was cited, or which group of scientists published it. Then I would sort my references by their impact factor, for example, or the citation record. By other words, Mendeley would be very helpful if it allows users to add columns to the table view…

                                • Confirm before deleting a paper in Mendeley Desktop.

When I try to delete a citation from the Library in the web version of Mendeley, it asks before it deletes. In the desktop version it does not! This is frustrating, because the Delete button is quite close to the menus; I've pressed it accidentally a couple times.
Relatedly, in the Deleted Documents folder, it would be helpful to have a "Date deleted" column, to determine which citation I just accidentally deleted.

                                  • "Search by Title" no longer working - Google Scholar blocked?

After importing a few papers with Windows 7 (x64) the "Search by Title" feature now quietly fails for me as well. I suspect this has something to do with Google Scholar blocking automatic queries to the service, since I now must enter a Captcha while visiting that site.

We release this is a problem and are looking for ways to fix it. Unfortunately once Google Scholar starts asking for a Captcha there is no way to stop it doing so, so the problem will continue. We are looking into possible fixes.

                                    • supporting right-to-left languages

It would be very helpful if mendeley could support the option of:
                                      1. non-Latin languages citation formats - when you don't use English articles the program still using terms like "In" or "eds" and I have to fix it.
                                      2. Supporting Left to Right languages like Hebrew and Arabic.

                                      • A possible merge of "My Tags" and "Keywords Fields"

Usually the same set of keywords are present in the "My Tags" and "Keywords field"
Combining them would allow to work with a tag better than switching between "My Tags" and "Authors Keywords" in the drop-down box

                                        • highlight text when marked after clicking on the "hightlight tool"

This is what happens often: I select a part of a text to copy it into my abstract. After pasting it, I want to highlight it, too. So I click on "Highlight" but nothing happens.

I think it would be useful if marked text would be automatically highlighted when clicking on "highlight".
