You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

There are two ways to get more votes:

• When an admin closes an idea you've voted on, you'll get your votes back from that idea.
• You can remove your votes from an open idea you support.
• To see ideas you have already voted on, select the "My feedback" filter and select "My open ideas".

1. Parse and link clickable download through Google API for references within a paper.

My suggestion for what to add next is to add a feature that automatically parses the references within academic papers and then searches through means for each one offering clickable downloads. For myself, I built a software that does this using ParsCit which is from University in Singapore. Here is a link to that software in GitHub. I beileve it's written in Perl. https://github.com/knmnyn/ParsCit
This very intelligent and saves lots of time searching for references within a paper my making them clickable download. In the web-version that I wrote it searched google for filetype:pdf and then parsed the results in…

4. to make it possible to create a new folder in the browser plugin.

I love using the browser-plugin for Chrome to save pdfs and articles to be read later. Right now though one can only choose to put the document into an already existing folder. It would be great to create folders directly through the plugin and store the files there.

5. add WebDAV support to Mendeley Cloud Storage.

Several eReaders support syncing files with a server through the WebDAV protocol, including the Sony Digital Paper, which is a large format 13" eReader that is well suited for reading academic research papers (Mendeley's target audience).

Allowing users to use Mendeley's Cloud Storage through the WebDAV protocol (or a subset of the protocol) would make the user experience of using Mendeley to keep and organize articles while using an eReader (or an app that supports WebDAV) to read those articles completely seamless.

I would be more than willing to pay a monthly fee for this feature, and I believe others…

7. Flag inaccurate citation entries

User flagging of inaccurate entries. The current page contains a concatenation of multiple unrelated references into a single entry (as did 3 other "recommended" citations yesterday). In this case, a standalone book is presented as an IEEE journal article, the DOI is broken, article title and citation may not match, and the abstract is for an entirely different third publication.

8. Library folder structure in 'document details'

To include the 'My Library' folder structure to 'Document details' so it is possible to quickly see which folder(s) the paper you are reading is/are annotated to/saved in.

10. How to add a brake-line on CSL code

Is it possible to add a break-line between contributors and date on CSL code using
or

<group delimiter="
">
<text macro="contributors" suffix=" "/>
</group>
<group display="left-margin">
<text macro="date" suffix=" "/>
</group>

I need to be like this

Authors ¶
date ->Title, editor, edition, publisher, city.

option group display="block" doesn't work.

11. auto-update details of the existing article

You have a very nice feature to update article details based on the article title. However, we can't use this feature for the articles which are already added. When the button for auto-update disappears, there is no way to use auto-update again. Please add the permanent button.

12. Compliment w/ minor suggestion

I just want to say that this is ubiquitous referencing application I have been seeking my entire life. Keep improving functionality and services across platforms. If this application only had the functionality of Grammarly. There would be no need for another application. Only Mendeley. It would dominate the market and completely block other competitors from entering the marketspace. Thank you.

15. Add a "Slide Presentation" or "Briefing Charts" as a document type

I recommend adding a "Slide Presentation" or "Briefing Charts" category to capture the unique document type of slides. These are commonly available as an addendum to a conference paper. And in many professional settings, 'briefing charts' are the document-type of choice for final output. Categorizing slides as such would make it easier to search specifically for slides, and also to exclude them if you want conference proceedings papers and not slides.

16. Show references and figures in sidebar

Most recent papers have their images/references metadata available in the publisher's webpage.

ReadCube does an excellent job in importing all references and displaying on the sidebar (the Enhance PDF thing). Mendeley could take it to the next level and display figures as well, which makes reading much easier. Going from page to page finding figures and references is a pain the ass.

18. Allow to update "created" document attribute using the API

Currently, the "created" document field is set by the server with the date that the document was added to the system.

This is undesirable when we are restoring a backup as all the original added dates will be lost.

Even by using the update functions from the API it remains impossible to change the creation dates.
I would strongly suggest to allow the update function of the API to overwrite the "created" default attribute's value set by the server.

19. Include journal abbreviations in API

Dear Mendeley,

It is great that journal abbreviations are now supported in Mendeley Desktop. However, it seems that there is no way to use journal abbreviations when using the Mendeley API. Would it be possible to include support for it in the API?

20. collect all highlighted text from every paper in a seperate pdf or doc

It is sometimes useful to see all the highlighted text in a seperate document. This helps when you are looking for certain tags or vocabulary of a particular literature
